Position Details
Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse position in a long-term care facility. Primarily day (7AM-3PM) and evening (3PM-11PM) shifts. Overtime available at 2x pay.
Job description

- We are looking for a caring, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a passion for the elderly to join an amazing care team at a beautiful long-term care facility.
- Position Details:
- Full-time roles, primarily days and evenings. Overtime available at 2x pay.
- Compensation:
- $50.00-$55.00 per hour plus overtime at 2x. Full benefits (Dental, Eyecare, Prescription, Massage, etc.) after 3 months.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing assessments within the scope of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Implement and evaluate nursing care to residents, including medication administration
- Perform wound care with assistance from the RNs in accordance with competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice
- Contribute to the development and ongoing changes to individualized plans of care based on assessments
- Administer oral, transdermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications including PRN medication in accordance with organizational and pharmaceutical policies and procedures
- Provide work direction and supervision by assigning and delegating tasks to HCAs
- Maintain a safe environment for residents, significant others, and staff by adhering to established health and safety policies, standards, and procedures including emergency procedures and infection control guidelines
- Report to and perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Care
Qualifications
- Current practicing registration with a provincial nursing college.
- Graduate of recognized school of nursing.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Certificate of Geriatric Nursing or previous experience preferred. 1 year of LPN experience in Canada preferred.
